Dorothy Elias

Dorothy Elias, 92, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. She was born in Clymer on August 16, 1923 to the late Andrew & Anna Shaheen Anis and was a 1941 graduate of Ken-Hi. Mrs. Elias was treasurer of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church for several years and a member of the Myrrh Bearing Society of the Church. She was a secretary for National Material Corporation and most recently was a legal secretary for Raymond Bitar, Esq. of New Kensington, for 15 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitch and ceramics. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (David) Simpson of Crafton and Linda (Jay) Watson of Chapel Hill, NC; two grandchildren, Jenna Watson and Andrew Simpson; and her sister, Mary Ellen Joseph of New Kensington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Elias in 2011; and her sister, Jacqueline Anis. Viewing will be on Saturday, June 25, from 9 AM until services at 10 AM in St. George Orthodox Church, 1150 Leishman Avenue, New Kensington. Rev. Meletios Zafaran will officiate.
