William A Everhart

William A. Everhart, 88, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 19, 2016.

 

Born November 17, 1927 in Mogadore, OH, he graduated from Ken-Hi, then served in both the Navy and the Air Force before working for Burrell Construction in New Kensington for 30 years, as their Asphalt Plant Manager.  He retired around 1992.

 

He was a 67 year member of New Kensington Fire Company #2 and also belonged to the Seventh Street Sportsmens Club where he was a life member.  He also belonged to the Laborers Union #1058 in Pittsburgh. 

 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marie J. Checkeye Everhart; children, Robin (Ralph) Hemphill of Lower Burrell, Michael Everhart of Pittsburgh and David (Christine) Everhart of Gilbert, AZ; four grandchildren Courtney (Matthew) Dixon of Ross Township, Lindsey Hemphill (fiance Todd Carneval) of Allegheny Township, and Kayla and Samantha Everhart, both of Gilbert, AZ; and siblings, John (Agnes) Everhart of New Kensington, Margaret Kocher of Dewittville, NY, Peter (Joan) Eberhart of Waynesburg, OH, Ann (Luke) Slavaugh of Malvern, OH and Bernice Carroll of San Bernardino, CA.

 

Besides his parents, Anton & Mary Beltz Ujcich, he was preceded in death by a sister Grace Burgart. 

 

William enjoyed working in his garden, watching the Steelers, and all sporting events, and visiting with his neighbors on his back porch, especially his brother and best friend, John.

 

Viewing will be Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington where a service will be held Monday at 11 AM by Rev. Harold Mele.  Burial will be private.  To leave an online condolence visit www.rossgwalker.com
