Teresa B. Miecznikowski

Teresa B. Miecznikowski, of New Kensington, decided it was time to go dancing again with her much loved and missed husband, Casimir Merrill Miecznikowski.  She will also be joining her three brothers and two sisters, and her son, Jan January, and her “card club” friends.  Teresa is survived by her sons, Richard (Lana) Miecznikowski and Matthew Miecznikowski, her brother, Francis “Junior” Gentile, and her loving family - Rita January and her children, Sharon Weber, Rebecca January and Derek January; Shari Garrett and her children, Nicholas (Brandi), Christopher (Megan) and Thomas, her “adopted” son and friend, George Francis, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.  Teresa loved being with family and enjoyed being the center of attention with their teasing.  She maintained her sense of humor and loved to laugh with friends and family.  She and Merrill would frequently entertain large parties for friends, lasting until morning!  Teresa also enjoyed dancing at the club with her husband, the traditional Italian Christmas Eve with family and friends, playing cards, ceramics, quilting, her “stories,” reading and sewing. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Allegheny Valley Hospital and Healthcare at Home Hospice. Viewing will be on Friday, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 857 Kenneth Avenue, New Kensington.  Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
