William H. “Moose” Mozzy, 73, of Greensburg passed away peacefully at his home on January 2, 2021. He was born August 15, 1947 in New Kensington to the late Felix and Katherine (Hont) Mozzy.
He was a graduate of Ken-Hi Class of 1965 and served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969 as a tank crewman with expertise in tank weapons. Moose worked as a maintenance technician for the Westmoreland County Housing Authority for 33 years before his retirement. He was the most caring, generous, and kind person. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was a jokester and an animal lover, supporting various animal charities. Bill enjoyed fishing, especially with his father and family. He loved watching Pittsburgh sporting events and movies, completing crossword puzzles, fixing things, and spending time with his “little buddy of mine,” Greyson.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn (Jason) Hritz; step-son, Eric (Juanita) Snyder; grandson, Greyson Hritz, and various nieces and nephews and step grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip Mozzy and Judith Mochel, and nephew Robert Mozzy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, Jan. 8. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Cheswick rossgwalker.com
