Virginia Polarinakis, 94, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025.
She was born February 22, 1930, in New Kensington to the late Michael & Pota Kidonis, and was a 1948 graduate of Ken-Hi.
Mrs. Polarinakis was a member of the former Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of New Kensington, until their closing. She was a secretary for the Collection Service Center, Inc. of New Kensington for over 20 years. In addition to being a loving mother, she was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, home gardening and watching her beloved Steelers.
She was also preceded in death by her husband John G. Polarinakis, her sister Angie, brother Gus and daughter-in-law Barbara Polarinakis.
She is survived by her children, George (Joanne) Polarinakis, Penny (Gary) Lotz and John M. Polarinakis; her grandchildren Nicole (Jason) Tudor, Amanda (Robert) Melius, Hillary (Kevin) Adams, Stuart (Meg) Lotz, Michael (Merideth) Polarinakis and John Polarinakis. In addition, she is survived by eight loving great grandchildren.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 10AM until time of service at 12 Noon in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Private burial will be in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
