Sylvia L. "Bitzy" Turner

Sylvia L. "Bitzy" Turner, 75, of New Kensington passed away peacefully on September 19, 2021. She was born January 21, 1946, to the late Sherman and Mary M. (Togans) Hughes.

Sylvia was a graduate of Jackson Page High School Class of 1964. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, dining out, listening to and singing gospel music, and being an active member in her church’s congregation, Joseph’s Coat.

Sylvia is survived by her beloved children, Nicole Thomas and Sainty M.W. Turner; grandchildren, Alita Turner, Sainty Turner Jr., Nathan Turner, and Aaliyah Turner; three special grandchildren, Stephen L. Thomas Jr., Debralynn Horne, and Anthony Swann; special great-grandchild, CheVaya Horne; siblings, Henry Hughes, James Hughes, Brenda (Hughes) Simmons, and Deborah (Washby) McDonald; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son in infancy, Curtis Turner; and ten siblings.

Friends and Family will be received from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD. 217 FREEPORT ROAD, NEW KENSINGTON. The funeral service will be held privately for family only. Please wear a mask, as it will be required by the family.
