Sylvester R. “Betchy” Carmack, 67, of Creighton, East Deer Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
He was born in Penn Hills on August 15, 1957 to the late James E. & Maria E. Docdocos Carmack, and was a 1975 graduate of Penn Hills High School.
Mr. Carmack was a painter, and co-owner, along with his wife, of Lincoln Park Painting. He was known as the “Barbeque King” and was the “Boss with the Sauce.”
Besides his wife of 23 years, Colleen M. Green Carmack, he is survived by children, Lance, Shaun (Mikki), Andre, Maria, Montel, Franchesca (Thomas), Alexis (Marcel) and Jarrett (Savannah); 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lita Wingertsahn, Sara “Shelly” Carmack-Reynolds and Teresita “Terry” Hamilton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Everett “Bro” Carmack, Jr., Delmar “Nardene” Carmack and James “Shank” Carmack, and Earalita “Sissy” Gardner.
Viewing will be on Friday, February 14, from 10AM until a Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
