Stanley Gene McDonald Sr., 77, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 with his devoted family right by his side. He was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia March 17, 1944 to the late Norman and Cora (Hughes) McDonald.
Stan Sr. was a devoted husband, father and friend who loved life and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a man of faith, he served faithfully as a Deacon for the First Baptist Church of Ronco Pa, while gaining great respect from his church and throughout the community. After suffering from a work-related injury, where he was employed as a repairman for 39 years for West Penn Power, he remained strong in his faith and committed to his service to the Lord by hosting bible studies in his home. Stan Sr. strongly believed in hard work, good character, and always giving his best; instilling and engraining these essential values within his family for generations to come. A “jack of all trades”, he was a talented craftsman, extremely athletic, and an all-around outdoorsman. Prior to his accident he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and golf. Stanley Sr. will remain a guiding light and will always be remembered for his strength, loyalty and love of family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Sharon P. (Pilson) McDonald; beloved children, Rev. Stanley G. (Tina) McDonald Jr., Raymond (Cami) McDonald, Quintina Levine, Ester (Eric) Jones, and Elliott (Vanessa) Levine; cherished grandchildren, Stanley III, Jai, Mikaela, Cala, Renee, Stephen, Victoria, Morgan, Lindsay, Raymond Jr., Ravanne, Myles, Bianca, Evan, Brooke, Eric II, Kyle, Bailey, Mariah; and adored great-grandchildren, Raegan, Morgan, Blake, Jackson, Allaih, Addison, Isaiah, Javiar, Kylin, Brian, Brae’lyn, and Jawaun; brothers, Richard (Cora), Charles, William, & Nelson McDonald; and sisters, Gloria Guy, Barbara Branson, and Carol (Vernon) Hunter.
