Shequille Navon “Shaq” Lowe, 28, of Arnold, passed away Thanksgiving, November 24, 2022.
His mother, Shari Hutzell-Young says, “My son was nothing short of a blessing… he has struggled most of his life with Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes, but never once would I imagine this day… ironically this was his favorite holiday… anyone that knows my son knows he loved to eat, especially on Thanksgiving… he was born on a holiday, St. Patrick’s Day… and trust me he was as feisty as a leprechaun… but he was my pot of gold… I will forever be broken and will never let your memories fade away… may you be at peace now, you deserve this time of rest… I LOVE YOU SHEQUILLE LOWE.”
He was born on March 17, 1994 in New Kensington to Michael Lowe and Shari Lyn Hutzell.
He is survived by siblings Kayla Warren, Matthew Young, Nathan Hutzell, Hope Young, Francis Young Jr., Kahlil Stevens and Darae’ Young; nieces and nephew, Abi, Crystal, Nova, Azariah and Francis III; his step-father, Frank J. Young: maternal grandmother, Donna L. Barbiaux: maternal great-grandmother Mae Barbiaux; maternal step-grandmother Rochelle Hutzell; maternal grandfather J. Robert Hutzell; paternal godmother and aunt, Cynthia “Michelle” Lowe; and aunts, uncles, and cousins, Kyana M. Lowe and James Alsten; Lisa Lowe, Chris Lowe, Mackenzie and Nehemiah.
Preceding him in death were paternal grandparents, Glen Lowe and Virginia Combs “Bernadette” Lowe and maternal great-grandfather, Robert V. Barbiaux.
Shaq was a certified OSHA cement mason. He enjoyed competing in video games, played football for Ar-Ken, loved riding his go-cart, enjoyed visits to Buttermilk Falls, and spending time and hanging out with friends and family.
A private service will be held at Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, 504 Eighth Street, New Kensington, Thursday, December 8, at Noon, by his pastor, Rev. Dr. Mitchel Nickols. A repast for friends and family will immediately follow at 1PM in the I.B.P.O.E. of W. #294 (Elks Lodge), 932 Third Avenue, New Kensington. ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD. was entrusted with the arrangements.
