Shelly Ann (Kelly) Thayer

Shelly Ann Kelly Thayer, 60, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

She was born November 18, 1962 in Natrona Heights to the late Clair and Bernice Pratt Kelly, attended Highlands High School and earned two masters degrees in psychology and criminal justice.  

Shelly was Vice-President of Clinical Services for Renewal, Inc. of Pittsburgh, since 2017.  Previously she was employed by Abraxas Youth and Family Services, and Somerset Hospital.  She enjoyed shopping for clothes and cars, mani’s (manicures) and pedi’s (pedicures), and spoiling her grandchildren and nieces and nephew. 

Surviving are her son, Nicholas Mendrala (girlfriend Jess Gadley, and her children Killian, Mickenzie and Kameryn); brothers, Richard J. (Tami) Kelly, and Rodney L. Kelly; nieces and nephew, Caitlin, Zachary and Michala Kelly (fiancé Brett Mason), and Jennifer (Jonathan) Rae; great nieces and nephews, Layla, L.J., Gavin and Beckett; her Phoenix (AZ) friends, Penny (Bob) Heisler and Susan King; and her second family the Wiskemans. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Sue Kelly.
