Sarah "Mim" C. Gardlock

Sarah C. “Mim” Gardlock, 52 of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024 in Platinum Ridge Center for  Rehabilitation & Healing in Brackenridge.   

She was born in Natrona Heights on January 13, 1972 to the late Robert “Bob” and Connie Troup Gardlock.

Sarah received her GED and Certificate in Culinary Arts from Pittsburgh Job Corps. She loved a good party and was known for her phrases "Choppin' Broccoli!" and "Cool Beans!" 

She had a love for cooking, music, herbal remedies, walks in cemeteries, fairies, gnomes, butterflies, dragons, Indian Pow-Wows, tattoos and a keen interest in the Craft but her greatest love was her children and her grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by her children; Candace (David Cook) Dembowski of New Kensington, Beth Matta of New Kensington, Rhiannon Hennessy of New Kensington and Ravyn (Julian Lara) Hennessy of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Zarianna Moon and  Sanji Cook both of New Kensington and step-grandchildren Dashawna Cook and Temari Cook both of New Kensington;  her siblings; Joseph (Rundelle) Schmidt of Apollo, Wendy Sundberg of Derry, Donald (Jessica) Gardlock of Cambria County, nephew Eric Sundberg of Derry and niece Savina Gardlock of Cambria County; also, many cousins including her closest cousin Carole (Mark Strobel) Vedro and long-time childhood friends, Catherine Salm Armenti of Oakmont, Dawn Wyble of West Deer Township and Sherry Edinger Sidney of Wilkins Township. 

Sarah was predeceased by her parents, her grandson Zaire Gardlock of New Kensington and numerous aunts and uncles.

Arrangements were handled by Ross Walker Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at East Kensington Community Circle (EKCC) Hall located at 1785 7th Street Road, New Kensington, PA 15068.  

The family invites those attending her Celebration of Life to wear Sarah's favorite color-Black, in her memory.
