Sarah Jeter-Pendleton

Sarah Connie Kay Jeter-Pendleton, 72, died peacefully at Platinum Ridge Center for Rehabilitation & Healing on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.  She was born in Spartanburg, SC on July 28, 1949, to the late John Jeter and Edna (Wilks) Jeter Thompson. 

Sarah was a steadfast worker serving as a Port Authority Bus Driver for the City of Pittsburgh for 16 years, and later as a Certified Public Accountant for the Memphis Police Department, where she retired from. Sarah loved to play bingo at the local churches and festivals, take walks around her neighborhood, and lived for big winnings on the slot machines. Most of all Sarah cherished the time she spent with her grandkids and great grandbabies. She built her life around her family; Sarah will be so deeply missed for her loyalty and devotion to her family and community, as well as her fun-loving spirit.

She is survived by her children, Marzett Geter, Lisa Betts, Dameyonne Geter, Nanci Wellons, and Melvina Hawkins-Patterson; 12 grandchildren, Marzett Geter Jr. Marqua Geter, Khadijah Geter, Angel Johnson, Shanette Betts, Alisha Wilson, Richard Wright Jr., Dione Wright, Areon Betts, Jewel Betts, Tashenanna Betts, and Olivia Betts; 19 great grandbabies; brother, Samuel Jeter; and her sweet puppy, Gracie, who brought her so much unconditional love and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
