Sandra Lee Carter, 81, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
She was born December 15, 1943 in Johnstown, to the late Davis L. & Ethel Mae Patterson Yeager, and was a 1961 graduate of Laurel Valley High School.
Sandra was traffic manager for A. P. Green Refractory, Tarentum. She belonged to the First Church of Christ in Philipsburg.
She and her husband of 60 years, James K. Carter enjoyed driving to eastern Tennessee every year to visit the Smoky Mountain region. They also enjoyed going to “Dolly Wood,” several times a year.
Besides her husband, she is survived by cousins Lana Gale Lear and Cory (Cindy) Yeager; niece Joyce (James) Kay Worth, and nephew Van “Chip” (Julie) L. Watkins; brother-in-law Van L. Watkins; cousin-in-law, Patricia Ann (Charles "Bud") Miller; and friend and helper Sherri Mangone. Also survived by several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two cousins, Ralph Henderson and Bonnie Pitsinger; and sister-in-law Marjorie J. Watkins.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 13, from 4pm until services at 6pm in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Elder Charles Ghee, will officiate. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
