Rowan Caan Melby

Rowan Caan Melby, 14, of Pine Twp. earned his wings on Tuesday, October 13, 2021 as he was led into heaven with his devoted mother and father right by his side.  He was born on June 10, 2007 in Charlottesville, VA; a true guiding light to his parents, Eric Kenneth and Vicki Lynn (Williams) Melby’s lives. 

Rowan was a spectacular little boy grown into a fiercely brave young man, who brought strength, unfaltering courage, and hope to everyone who encountered him on his journey.  He loved being surrounded by his family and especially spending time with his siblings, Mikayla Mae, Daryl James, and Alexander Cameron, watching cartoons, especially Yo Gabba Gabba, while snacking on his favorite foods, pizza and french fries.  Rowan attended 4th grade at The Watson Institute in Sewickley, a place he adored, enthusiastically anticipating his daily bus ride.  He cherished holidays and birthdays when he would receive presents, and music moved his soul; Rowan absolutely loved to dance.  He will be so deeply missed and forever remembered for his warm smile that gave sunshine to every day, sharing his everlasting sweet spirit, and leading without fear. 

In addition to his parents and three siblings, Rowan is survived by his paternal grandparents, Brian Lee and Brenda Jo Melby; maternal grandparents, Keith Roland and Christine Ann Williams; uncles, Chad David (Crystal Elise Newby) Melby and Keith Richard Williams; and three cousins, Ava, Laney, and Grace Williams.  “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” Exodus 14:14.
