Ronald K. Holycross, 84, of Upper Burrell Township, passed away peacefully, in his home on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Ronald was born on December 2, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Carl and Dorothy Holycross.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Afterward, he worked as a repairman in various office buildings in the area fixing fax machines, printers, and other office equipment. After retiring from his repair business, Holycross Office Machines, he moved to Florida and worked in Disney World, where he assisted with dressing the characters in the park.
Ronald was an avid craftsman and built his own flintlock guns. He enjoyed feeding birds and other animals, as well as baking and cooking for his loved ones.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Ann Holycross; a son Frederick Holycross and his sister Cathy Mitchell.
Survivors include by his daughter Kenna (Dwight II) Householder, stepchildren Roxanne (Jerome) White, Thomas (Jen) Mangol, Rebecca Morrow, and Josh Holycross, brother, Dennis Holycross, and sister, Barbara McCreary, as well as 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 5-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Monday, February 5, at 11am by Rev. Dean Ward. Private burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Those desiring may contribute to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children or the Disabled American Veterans.
