Robert “Wayne” McAllister, 90, of Upper Burrell Township, was called home on August 10, 2023.
He was born on January 14, 1933, in Plum Borough and was a Plum High School Graduate of 1951.  Wayne proudly served his country in the United Sates Air Force during the Korean War with duty stations in Bermuda and Montgomery, AL.  He was a resident of Upper Burrell for 70 years, a member of UB Lions Club, and helped found the UB Little League where he also coached.  He was a truck driver for Burrell Construction and Supply Company of New Kensington, and was a member of Puckety Presbyterian Church of Lower Burrell.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Frances (Zito) McAllister, and son Thomas McAllister (1982).  He was also preceded in death by his parents James R McAllister, and Mary Oral Beighly; brothers James “Jim” & Donald McAllister and sister Norma Hawk.
He is survived by his children Patricia (Sheldon) Willis and John (Brenda) McAllister, both of Upper Burrell Township.  He is also survived by grandchildren Matthew “Matt” (Jacquelyn) Birx, Caroline McAllister M.D., Sheldon “Alex” & Jacquelyn Willis, and Pamela & Julia McAllister.  He is survived by 2 great grand children Hannah & Adrienne Birx; brother Gordon (Pat) McAllister, along with numerous nieces & nephews.
Wayne was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports especially, the Pirates and watched as many games as possible. Wayne may have been KDKA’s biggest fan as he watched the news and listened to their radio station every day.  Wayne enjoyed the outdoors and bird watching, Oreos, playing balls and aggressively quacking at his great granddaughters.
