Richard Turner,72, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was born September 15, 1948 in Pratt City, AL to the late Susie Smith and Joseph A. Turner Sr.
Mr. Turner was a member of the New Kensington Elks Lodge and attended the Vermont Baptist Church. He loved fishing, along with Pitt basketball and football, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.
Survivors include his children, Theresa (Jamie) Houser, Sieta Schuler, Kayla Turner, Calvin Turner, and Maranna Turner; siblings, Albert Turner, Joseph Turner, Cynthia Smith, and Dr. Jerome Smith Vaughn; longtime companion, Roxanne Sundberg; cousins, Charles (Vera) Turner; separated spouse, Melissa Turner; a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and best friend, Arthur “Voice” Godson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Bassett; twin sisters, Barbara Fitten and Bobbie Smith; and brothers, James McKenzie and Horace Smith.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at 12PM on Friday, April 30 in the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Rev. Phil Walker of World Overcomers Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. rossgwalker.com
