Richard Lee Peterson

Richard Lee Peterson, 72 of Churchill, PA, transitioned peacefully into the arms of the Lord, Monday January 1, 2024.  Born July 8, 1951, in Warren, OH, he was a resident of the New Kensington-Arnold area for over 50 years. 
Richard loved traveling and recently spent time abroad in Europe.  In addition, he liked watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and listening to classical music.  He also enjoyed spending time at the shooting range.  Most of all, he adored his dogs: Max, Bella, and Tucker.
Richard was a 1970 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, OH.   He was employed by Fisher Scientific for 19 years but later retired from CVS Inc. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman L. Peterson and Catherine (Cayson) Peterson and a brother Lawrence Peterson.
Survivors include his spouse of 14 years, Kathryn (Oliver) Peterson and children Sherri Peterson of Arnold, PA, Brittany Peterson of Baltimore, MD, Andrea (Gregory) Chambers of New Kensington, PA, Cassandra Lyle of Carlisle, PA, LeeAnn (Shawn) Cunningham of Lower Burrell, PA, Gayly (Joseph) Crawford of Gibsonia, PA, Harvie Oliver III of Homestead, PA, and April (Brandon) Green of Ravena, NY; two brothers, Terrence Peterson of Warren, OH, Sherman Peterson of New York, NY, and a sister, Stephanie Ashanti of Fairfield, CA; his beloved dog Tucker; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 
Viewing will be Friday, January 5, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where services will be held on Saturday, January 6, at 11AM, by his pastor Rev. Roger Thomas.  Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
