Rebecca J. (Hanna) Dunkel

Rebecca J. “Becky” Dunkel, 78, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
She was born November 25, 1944 in New Kensington to the late Hugh Clark & Esther Mae (Jackson) Hanna and was also the step-daughter of the late Margaret Hanna.
Rebecca was a 1962 graduate of Ken-Hi, and then graduated from the New Kensington Commercial School. She lived all of her life in the area. She was a member of the Kittanning Chapter #277, Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed reading and traveling, in particular on cruises. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rebecca was an avid collector of Santa Claus figures and loved displaying them at Christmas.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Gene C. Dunkel; daughter Lisa M. (Christopher) Gural, son Jason K. (Monica) Dunkel; four grandchildren, Elisabeth & Christina Gural and Morgan and Dominick Dunkel; and her brother David M. (Debbie) Hanna.
Viewing will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where services will be held by Rev. Dean Ward, pastor of The River - A Community Church, on Friday, May 5, at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold. An Eastern Star Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7PM.
