Raymond Wade Collins, Jr.

Raymond W. Collins, Jr., 64, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023.

He was born April 5, 1959, in Pittsburgh to the late Raymond Sr. and Joan Stark Collins, and was a graduate of Penn Hills High School. 

Mr. Collins was Captain of New Kensington Fire Dept. #5 for many years.  He was a retired machine operator from Metplas, Natrona Heights, and belonged to the Eagles Club of New Kensington

Ray enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and collected toy fire trucks.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Judith “Judie” Baronie Collins; siblings, Jean (David) Martin, Stephen (Kathy) Collins and Chris (Leslie) Collins; step-children, Renee Annette Hurlbut (Howard) Wessel and Kenneth Allen (Lisa) Hurlbut; grandchildren, Kristopher Italiano, Stephinie Italiano, Connor Wessel, Mason Hurlbut, Dylan Wisniewski and Kaitlyn Wessel; and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Eamon, Sophia, Elijah, Noah and Adelynn.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Vivian Coates and Timothy Collins. 

Viewing will be Tuesday, October 3, from 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Wednesday, October 4, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Dean Ward. The New Kensington Firemen will assemble in the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 PM.  Those desiring may contribute the the New Kensington Fire Department #5.
