Patricia Diane (Rykaceski) Spak

Patricia Diane (Rykaceski) Spak, age 82 of New Kensington, died on Sunday, May 25, 2025.  Patricia was born in Freeport on January 2,1943 to the late Roman Ignatius Rykaceski and Helen (Sadowski) Rykaceski. 

Patricia was the widow of William P. Spak whom she married in 1964 and who died in 2006. In addition to her parents and her husband, Patricia is preceded in death by her son Robert P. Spak, in 1973 at the age of 7 years old.

Patricia's survivors include her two children, Leanne Evans and her husband John of North Richland Hills, TX and her son Christopher Spak and wife Melanie of Harrisburg.  Her twin brothers, Raymond Rycakeski and wife Mary Ellen of Pittsburgh and James Rykaceski and his wife Betsy of North Ridgeville, OH.  Her two granddaughters, Hayley Evans and her husband Cooper Cromley of Colorado Springs, CO and Nicole Evans of North Richland Hills TX. Many nieces and nephews and their families. Brother and Sister-in-law Harry Spak and his wife Elizabeth of Plum Boro.

Patricia graduated from Freeport High School, Freeport, as part of the class of 1960. Pat went on to graduate from Robert Morris Business School.

Patricia's career encompassed various roles starting with BABB & Co. in Pittsburgh, then with Dr. Majewski for many years, then several other clerical and bookkeeping positions before retiring from Life Core, Inc. in Pittsburgh.

Patricia was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington where she spent time volunteering in the school library.

Patricia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading and doing crafts. She enjoyed playing cards, going to lunch and traveling with her longtime “Card Club” friends.
Patricia will be missed by all the people who have been in her life.

Viewing will be on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 9AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington.  Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.  ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., of New Kensington was entrusted with her care.
