Mary Alice Brenner, 93, of Plum Borough, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
She was born April 26, 1932 in the Logans Ferry Heights area of Plum Borough to the late Theodore & Elizabeth Langer Barckhoff, and was a graduate of Plum High School, Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing, and received her bachelors in education, and masters in arts degrees from IUP.
Mary Alice was a Registered Nurse and was employed at Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington, then became school nurse and eventually Guidance Counselor at Plum High School.
A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington. She enjoyed traveling and kept fit at the YMCA of New Kensington. She donated her time and efforts feeding people at the Sr. Citizens Center of Plum Borough.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband Donald Clifford Brenner.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Ron) McNutt, Kim (Kevin) Meola and Don (Cassie) Brenner; grandchildren, Keli, Nicole, Kori, Cody and Courtney; two great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Ronald Barckhoff, Eugene (Joanna) Barckhoff and Carol Busler.
Viewing will be on Thursday, November 20, from 1-7 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be Friday, November 21, at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1125 Leishman Avenue, New Kensington. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
