Mary Kubiak Obituary

Mary J. “Mary June” Mitchell-Kubiak, 81, was called home to the Lord after a long struggle with dementia the morning of September 14, 2023, at her home in Apache Junction, AZ.
Mary was born in Lower Burrell Township, Aug. 7, 1942. She graduated from Ken-Hi and attended El Camino Junior College in California where she learned to speak fluent Russian, then graduated from the FPM data processing School in New Kensington, and Central Arizona College in Apache Junction.  Her life work included working at the library of Congress in Washington DC, Hughes Aircraft, Penn State University, and PPG in Pittsburgh, where she was awarded the title of Miss PPG, The Apache Junction Tattler and retired 3 times from American Family Insurance. Mary was a devout Christian who was always looking for opportunities to serve the Lord. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in East Mesa AZ. She often invited the less fortunate over for Holiday meals with the family, and for many years advocated for a deaf community member helping him overcome barriers and aiding with personal affairs, she volunteered at Citizens General Hospital, and taught Sunday school at Crossroads Baptist Church, and most importantly she was a role model and an example for those who didn't know Christ.
She was a proud Patriot who rarely missed a parade and a regular donor for many veteran causes.
Proceeded in death are husband Gerard Kubiak , sister Janice Glovier, brothers Bill Bob Glovier, parents Nick and Grace (Shook) Glovier and niece Jane (Glovier) Kinter. She is survived, loved and dearly missed by her two sons Shawn and Barry Mitchell, brother John Glovier, sisters -in-law Elaine Glovier, Linda Glovier, and Priscilla Glovier, and six nieces and nephews who will forever refer to her as Aunt Mary June.
Mary had a passion for horses and cats and spent as much time with both as possible. She was also known for her quick wit and sense of humor that endeared her to many good friends. When people would ask her how she was feeling she always replied 'with my hands as often as possible.”
