Martin S. Susa

Martin Stephen Susa, 71, of New Kensington died on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was born in New Kensington on November 11, 1949, to Stephen R. and Myrtle I. Weston Susa.

He was a lifetime member of the 7th Street Sportsmen’s Club and the Penn State Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Engineer Society of Pennsylvania, The Frick Art Museum, The Carnegie Museum, The Planetary Society, Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and the Clan Buchanan Society International.

Martin loved travelling, having visited and worked in many countries including Canada, Saudi Arabia, China, India, South America, Thailand, and Malaysia. He was an avid reader and had a profound love for the Arts, holding season tickets for the Pittsburgh Symphony and Ballet. He enjoyed cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

Martin will always be remembered for his incredible intelligence, wit, and fun-loving spirit; and truly being the epitome of a “Jack of All Trades” when it came to building things from carpentry to assembling his motorcycle, which he called “Baby”, from scratch. Above all, He was an amazing father, brother, and husband that we will forever love and miss. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Jane Scholze Susa; cherished daughter, Natasha Susa; loving sisters, Stefanie (James) Susa Smith and Donna Morson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 FREEPORT ROAD, NEW KENSINGTON, PA 15068, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 2:00 PM. Rev.
