Madelaine G. Achenne

Madelaine G. (Noel) Achenne, 93, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Greensboro, NC, where she lived for the past five years.  She was born September 18, 1925, in Glassmere, PA to the late John Noel and Rose (Sprumont) Noel.

Madelaine was a 1944 graduate of Ken-Hi. She enjoyed working outside the home, holding several office jobs throughout her life, including PPG Industries in Springdale, Numec, Miller Brothers, and Monarch Furniture Company in New Kensington, where she happily worked until the age of 78.

Madelaine is survived by her children, Robin Schrecengost of Greensboro, NC; William (Bill) Achenne of Austin, TX; and Holly (Glenn) Matovcik of Lower Burrell; four grandchildren Carrie (Randy) Brezler, Ben (Trung Bach) Falter, Madison Matovcik, and David Matovcik; and two great grandchildren, Emma Brezler and Logan Brezler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Russell Achenne in 1997; and brothers, Richard (Mary) Noel and Robert Noel.

A Viewing will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 from 3 to 7 PM, in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 18 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dean Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
