Luella Greiner Cherok, 70, of Penn Hills and formerly of New Kensington, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Luella was born February 6, 1955 in New Kensington to the late Theodore & Luella Madzcar Greiner, and was a 1973 graduate of Valley High School.
She was a 25 year employee of the Medical Records Department in Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, and then worked for the University of Pittsburgh’s National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP).
Luella was a "fashionista," enjoying the latest fashions, clothing, shoes and jewelry. She especially loved her three Airedales, Heidi, Duke and Asta.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, James J. Cherok; son, Brandon J. Cherok of Tarentum; and brothers, Tom Greiner of New Kensington and Theodore “Ted” (Ann) Greiner of Camp Hill.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Tom and Mark Greiner.
Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 30, from 2pm until time of service at 4pm in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
