Lois A. “Sis” (Horn) Farabaugh, 84, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully after a short illness on Monday, August 23, 2021. She was born February 17, 1937, to the late Vernon A. and Ethel M. (Ferguson) Horn.
Lois worked for the Alcoa Lab right out of high school until she married the love of her life, Bernie Farabaugh on September 13, 1958. She then worked for Bethesda Lutheran Church as the church secretary. Lois was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed spending time with friends and playing cards at Senior day out. Lois enjoyed traveling across the country with Bernie in their motorhome. They made it to 45 states and enjoyed spending time in Myrtle Beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie L. Farabaugh Kuegel, and her grandson, Jonathan Kuegel, both of Owensboro, KY; beloved dog, Sage; brother, Richard Horn of Plum, PA; three sisters-in-law, Edna Hildebrand of New York, Norberta (Gary) Marshall, and Dorris Ann Evans, both of Ebensburg; grand puppies, Stevie, Penny, and Blaze; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bernie in 2014; and brother, Billy Horn.
Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, Bethesda Lutheran Church, or Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company No. 3.
Viewing will be from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday, Aug 31, 2021 in Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Pastor James Arter will officiate.
