Lois Ruth Williams, 91, of Plum, formerly of Wilkinsburg, devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, died peacefully at home with her family right by her side on Tuesday March 16, 2022. Born in Kanesholm, PA on October 9, 1930, she was one of four children to the late Carl and Alice (Schaaf) Swanson.
Lois was a graduate of Kane High school class of 1948 where she began her earthly journey as the most generous, and compassionate woman. She went on to study nursing and was a 1952 graduate of West Penn School of Nursing. It was a role that fit her well dedicating her life to helping those she cared for. She married the late, Thomas D. Williams, and together they raised their family of two children in a home filled with deep love. They spent many summers near Pymatuning Lake in Andover, OH, creating everlasting memories into her later years where it became her summer place with Thomas. Lois continued to serve her community after retirement by working for Meals on Wheels of Western PA.
Lois was a faithful woman with a tender heart of gold, and a giving spirit that will be sorely missed most by her surviving children, Greg T. Williams of Newport Beach, CA and Lori A. Stumpf of Plum; grandson, Bernie (Kim Jobes) Stumpf of Plum; darling great granddaughter, Emma Stumpf; and brother- in-law, Wally Dyne; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lois was reunited with her sweetheart, Thomas, who died in 2003; her brothers, Ralph and Donald Swanson; and her sister, Jo Ann Dyne.
