Leonard A. “Lenny Fence” DeMello, 60, of Plum Boro, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.He was born December 5, 1957, in Puunene, Maui, Hawaii, to the late Louis & Veronica Garcia DeMello, and graduated from Maui High School. Lenny moved to Western Pennsylvania in the early 1980’s. He was employed at Allegheny Fencing in Hazelwood for over 30 years, and previous to that worked for North American Fencing in Cheswick. Always the eternal optomist, he enjoyed fishing, his dog, Amber, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR, and especially relished spending time with his daughters and granddaughter. While in Hawaii, loved to surf, and was a cowboy at the Haleakala Ranch in Maui, and rode bull in the rodeo. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Brenda A. Bianchi DeMello; daughters, Amanda L. (Kevin) Kerestes of Gibsonia and Andrea L. (fiance Brian) DeMello of Pittsburgh; and granddaughter, Brynleigh Paige Kerestes; siblings, Kathy Haggerty of Bethel Park, Bernie (Luis) DaVilla, Louis (Brenda) DeMello Jr. and Carol DeMello, all of Maui, Hawaii and Sandy (Ron) Stanford of Richmond, TX; and the mother of his children, Diane Havrilla. Viewing will be Friday 6p until time of service at 8p in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Rev. Dean Ward, pastor of The River - A Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be private.
