Leo L. Bittcher, 86, of Fox Chapel, and formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Born June 20, 1938, in New Kensington, to the late Leo & Bertha Schmidt Bittcher, he was a 1956 graduate of Ken-Hi, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University and a Masters Degree from Rutgers.
He was Regional Vice President of PNC Bank, Pittsburgh for many years.
Mr. Bittcher served with the United States Army for six years during the Berlin Crisis and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Survivors include his brother Al (Jane) Bittcher, and nieces and nephews, including Mark (Felicia) Bittcher, Michael (Sandy) Bittcher, Eric (Marla) Bittcher, Karen (Kenneth) McLatchie & Jane Bittcher, and Andrew McGeever.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Mae McGeever, brother, Ewald “Dutch” Bittcher; and niece Lori Ann McGeever.
Private viewing, and funeral service by Rev. Dean Ward was held at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD, of New Kensington, followed by Military Honors by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Donations in Leo’s memory may be made to the Animal Protectors of the Allegheny Valley, 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA 15068. Private burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
