Lathea L. Shaw

Lathea L. “Tia” Shaw, 53, of New Kensington passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. She was born September 5, 1968 in Warren, OH to Gwendolyn Ellard Shaw McNabb and the late Dale Edwin Shaw Sr.

Tia was a member of Canaan Outreach Ministries, though she was loved by many congregations. She loved playing bingo and could often be found at the Alle-Kiski Valley Center for Active Adults. Hairdressing was more than a hobby; it was a passion. If you lived in New Ken, chances are she did your hair at some point. 

Tia was a loyal friend who wasn’t afraid to tell you the truth. She opened her home to many and, when she loved you, she did it with her whole heart. She was truly one of a kind and she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her mother, Tia is survived by her son, Javon Wade Shaw; stepmother, Billie Jayne Hollis Shaw; siblings, Leeann (Wayne) Younger, Dale E. (Jada) Shaw Jr., and Loni (David) Booher; stepsister Jennifer Thomas; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
