L. Joanne (Snair) Simpson

L. Joanne Simpson, 92, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

She was born February 29, 1932 in New Kensington to the late Albert C. & Helena Craig Snair, and was a 1950 graduate of Ken-Hi.

Mrs. Simpson was a bus driver for the former Laidlaw Bus Company.  Previous to that she was a clerk for Ideal Cleaners.  

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Simpson; four brothers, Albert, Ray, Roy and E. Layden Snair; and a granddaughter, Andrea McElwain.  

Survivors include her daughter Renee McElwain; son Robert M. Simpson II; grandchildren Dana Simpson, Benjamin McElwain, and Robert Simpson; and great-grandchildren, Trinity Smith and Samuel Holmes.  

Viewing will be Monday, February 10, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Tuesday, February 11, at 10 am, by the Rev. Dean Ward.  Private burial will be in Tidal Union Cemetery, Tidal, Armstrong County.
