Kenneth G. White

Kenneth G. White, 87, of Buffalo Township, passed away on his birthday, Sunday, October 13, 2024.  

He was born October 13, 1937 to the late Thomas O. & Laura J. Gamber White, and graduated from Plum High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. 

Ken was a technician for Gulf Research for 24 years, then a field technician for AEG (Westinghouse) for 16 years before retirement.  

He attended the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.  His enjoyment was working, and spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed his workshop at home, where he could fix anything,  

Surviving are his three children, Kevin E. (Lana) White of Houston, TX, Kenneth G. (Vickie) White, Jr. of New Brighton, and Karen E. (Peter) Tomiczek of North Apollo; grandchildren, Karra, Justin, Mathew, Casey and Renee; great-granddaughter, Brynlee;  his sister, Eileen “Ike” Barker; and his companion of the past 14 years, Bessie Lydick.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Layton White and siblings, Shirley, Tom, Jack and Dorothy “Dot.”

Viewing will be on Thursday, October 17, from 5-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Friday at 12 noon by Rev. Dean Ward, followed by military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veteran Honor Guard.
