Katherine Frances Hoover Harrington, 80, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
She was born in Ford City on April 7, 1945 to the late John and Gertrude Provenzano Alcibiade, and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph F. Hoover, and her brother, Scipione Alcibiade.
She was a 1964 graduate of Arnold High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in New Kensington.
Kathy was a longtime member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington and served on the New Kensington-Arnold School Board for 15 years. She and her mother were long-time owners of the former Olde Tyme Bakke Shoppe on Constitution Boulevard in Arnold. She enjoyed crafts, particularly making greeting cards, collecting pearl jewelry, playing cards and was a great cook and baker.
Survivors include her husband Raymond J. Harrington; children, Michele Lynn (Dan) Matisko of Arnold, James John (Jennifer) Hoover of Irwin and John David (Erica) Hoover of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Taylor & Liam Argast, Nathaniel Riddell, Lindsay & Alex Hoover, and Sabrina, Ava & Natalie Hoover; as well as step-children, Kimberly Ann Serine, Elizabeth Mary Keefe, Matthew James Harrington, and John David Harrington; also step-grand and great-grandchildren, Cole (Maya) Harrington & Francesca Harrington, Conner Harrington, Cameron Harrington & Kiara Harrington, Jourdana (James) Rossi and James Rossi, Jr., Steven Bedoya, Hannah Geiger, Cassandra Geiger, Mark Harrington and Madison Harrington, Zaryn Harrington, Alyssa Harrington, Gavin Harrington, Mallory Harrington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
A Christian Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 2, at 12 Noon in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Anyone attending the Mass please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
