Joseph Walter Malecki, 93, of New Kensington, died January 20, 2021 peacefully at home in New Kensington. He was the loving husband of Helen (Rutka) Malecki, father to Joseph Walter Malecki Jr. (Bea), Deborah Mittelstaedt (Steve), Danette Hamilton (Robert), Kurt Malecki (Annette), and Paula Tomasik (Bill). He has 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Joseph was born January 26, 1927, in Natrona Heights, to Stanley and Josephine Malecki (Kocon).
Joseph graduated from the New Kensington Vocational School. He served in the US Navy for 2 years during WWII. He was a tool and die maker and retired as a foreman at Industrial Terminal Systems in New Kensington.
Joseph enjoyed a membership at the Willow Brook Country Club where he golfed frequently. He was also a skilled pool player.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John, Michael, Chester, and sisters, Helen (Sarvey) and Stella (Marietti) and daughter Paula Tomasik.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 in the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, Jan. 25. Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell. rossgwalker.com
