John Richard “Huggie” Dean, 70, of Arnold passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021. He was born October 15, 1950, in Philadelphia to the late Raymond H. Dean Sr. & Betty J. (Ferguson) Dean of Zelienople, Pennsylvania.

Johnny was a graduate of Seneca Valley High School class of 1968. He  was known as “Huggie” by his friends and was capable of putting a smile on anyone’s face. His presence was very well received in the New Kensington, Arnold, and Brackenridge communities.

John “Huggie” Dean was best known for cooking his spectacular wings at the Crow Bar in Arnold, and in prior years, he was a regular at P&M Pizza in Arnold. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his beloved family, and making extremely spicy homemade hot sauces.

Johnny was a loving father and grandfather, brother, uncle & friend to many. He is survived by his only daughter, Ms. Kara J. Griffith-Miller of New Kensington; four loving grandchildren, Kenneth D. Daugherty Jr., Charles K. Miller Jr., Richard M. Miller, & KayLyn J. Griffith; brothers, Leon (Cathy) Dean of Dallas, TX, Raymond H. (Cari) Dean Jr. of Cranberry Township, Dana (Veronica) Jones of New Kensington; and sister, Ramona (Larry) Wilson of East Vandergrift. Johnny also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends whom he will be deeply and truly missed by. His unexpected passing has left a major void in our family. RWG Johnny.
