John E. “Jack” Cooper, Sr., 93, of Kennerdell (Venango County) and formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2024.
He was born in New Kensington on January 29, 1932 to the late Glenn & Irene Nix Cooper, and was a 1950 graduate of Arnold High School. He lived in New Kensington for 55 years before moving to Venango County in 1987. Mr. Cooper was a welder for Portec Company, Aspinwall for 25 years, and starting there about 1962.
Jack was a longtime member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Arnold, and the Tyrian Lodge No. 644 Free & Accepted Masons, where he served as their Worshipful Master in 1969.
Surviving are his son John E. Jr. (Tracie) Cooper; and two grandsons, Caleb and Lucas Cooper.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Gloria Scibilia Cooper, in 2024; his daughter, Jaclyn Cooper; a son David “Biff” (I LUV BIFF) Cooper; and a grandson David Glubish.
Private services by his pastor, Rev. Marsha Adams, and entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lower Burrell. ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., was entrusted with arrangements.
