Jean Vairo Delia, of Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of New Kensington was taken to heaven on January 2, 2022 at the age of 90 while living at Amber Creek Care Community. Born February 24, 1931 in New Kensington, she was the only daughter to the late Frank M. Sr. and Ida Lilli Vairo.
Jean was a graduate of New Kensington High School Class of 1948, and a woman of strong educational background who built a life in academics. She went on to focus her studies at the University of Pittsburgh and was also a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a teacher for many years at New Kensington - Arnold School District and served as the head of the Business Department at Valley High School. She was a dedicated vital member of numerous Educational Organizations including a member of the National Education Association, life member of Pennsylvania State Education Association, Delta Pi Epsilon Honorary Society of Business Educators, and supervisor of student teachers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, fostering everlasting friendships and associations from being a mentor and sponsor; Jean played a significant role in aiding others. A woman of deep faith in God, she was a lifelong member at Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, and belonged to the parish’s Legacy Society. When she wasn’t serving her community, Jean loved to bake and cook, as well as feed her cultural side by attending concerts and plays.
Jean will be so deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered for her most giving heart, patience, and truly being a guiding light to all lives that she touched. She is survived by her cousin, Geraldine Vairo; and numerous other cousins, friends, and students.
In addition to her parents, she is welcomed into her next phase by her brother, Dr. Frank M. Vairo Jr.; and infant brother, Eugene Thomas Vairo.

A Blessing Service will be held at 12:15 PM on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Rd. New Kensington, PA 15068 to celebrate Jeans’ life.
