James Gilbert Tidd, 92, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
He was born in New Kensington on January 3, 1933, to the late Lyle & Lelia Smeltzer Tidd, and was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Jim enjoyed socializing with others, camping and sitting by the fire. He enjoyed working with wood and spending time with his family. He owned and operated Tidd Beveridge “Drive In Please, Drive Out Pleased” in New Kensington for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Jim (MaryJo) Tidd of Clinton and Jody (Dianne) Tidd of Bridgeport, WV; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sister, MaryBeth (John) Yeamans; step-daughter, Laurie (Dave) Bailey and step-son, Scott (Lori) Eiler; daughter-in-law, Jackie Tidd and her two sons, Justin and Cameron; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Jean Tidd; his second wife, Dorothy May Tidd; son Jonathan Lee Tidd; grandson Matthew Robert Tidd; step-son Joel Eiler; siblings, Lyle Tidd Jr., Bernard Tidd and Genevieve Stewart; and step-mother, Agnes Tidd.
Viewing will be on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 11AM until service at 1PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
