Jacqueline (Johnson) Nelson Obituary

Jacqueline (Johnson) Nelson, 72, of Apollo passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Kensington April 23, 1949 to the late Herbert O. Sr. and Dolores P. (Hilton) Johnson. 

Jacqueline belonged to the Kingdom Hall Congregation in Avonmore, PA and was a known as a pioneer within the Jehovah’s Witness community, because of her willingness to help others with Bible knowledge and her dedication to teaching. Her dedication to her community was evident in her time spent as the former owner of her daycare in Georgia.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. Jackie had an eye for interior design and enjoyed cooking for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer A. Langham and Pamela J. Nelson; siblings, Pamela Jean Jefferson, Herbert O. “Sonny” (Alita) Johnson Jr., Marpessa Goodwin, Beverly Joyce Buckner McNeil, Audrey L. Cloud, and Robert Lee “Winky” (Lithia) Johnson; grandchildren, Malik Langham, Jasmine Langham, Russell Langham Jr., Nailah Mercer, Mikah Nelson, and Josiah Nelson; loving, longtime friend, Donna Felix; and her Jehovah’s Witness family nationwide, including her Avonmore congregation friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Nelson; siblings, Merle L. Johnson, Albert R. Johnson, Patricia “Patsy” Johnson, Maude Johnson Taylor, Dolores Fuquay, Valerie Fife, and Barbara Johnson.
