Harry Lee Mentzell

Harry Lee Mentzell, 85, of New Kensington passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born in New Kensington on April 20, 1937, to the late Carroll and Jean (Jason) Mentzell.

Harry was a graduate of New Ken High Class of 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 until earning his honorable discharge in 1957. Harry worked for West Penn Power, L.E. Myers Line Construction in Florida, and Westfield Electric in New York. He also owned several businesses over the years before he retired as a line foreman in Westfield. Harry loved working in his yard and was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He will be missed dearly by his surviving family: his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Sandi Mentzell; children, Maudi (David) Mariani of Rural Ridge, PA and Amanda (Kevin) Smith of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Melnick, David Mariani, Harrison Smith, and Winston Smith; and great-granddaughter, Leanna.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Bauman.
