Harold L. Korber, 92, formerly of New Kensington passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2020. He was born in New Kensington on Jan. 7, 1928 to the late Richard and Charlotte Hoffman Korber.
Harold was a letter carrier for US Postal Service for 50 years. He was a co-owner and operator of the Vandergrift Airport from 1955 to 1960. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and a life member of the Seventh Street Sportsman Club.
Mr. Korber is survived by his companion of over 25 years, Helen M. Lawton; children, Janice Thomey of San Diego, Leslie Davis of Irwin, Hal (Kathy) Korber of Harrisburg, and Ross (Janet) Korber of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Heidi (Bob) Chappell, Aaron Korber, Abby Korber, Libby Korber, Nicholas Korber, and Alex Korber; great-grandchildren, Robbie and David Chappell; and his former wife, Shirley A. Ross Korber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Korber; and grandson, Jacob Korber.
