Grace P. Wade, 76, of New Kensington, embarked on her new journey with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. She was born in New Kensington on Sept. 12, 1945, to the late Rudolph and Gladys (Powell) Wade.
Grace was a woman of fierce bravery, headstrong determination, and had a heart of gold. She could make a friend in an empty room. Even if you spoke to her only once, she commanded a presence with her charismatic personality. Grace was known and loved by her entire community as she was often seen out and about around town. As a devoted woman to her neighborhood, she served many years as a secretary for the Alcohol Recovery Center (ARC) House and was a vital board member at Laurel Legal Services Inc., advocating free legal services to low-income clients across Western PA. Grace had an unwavering faith in the Lord, baptized as a Catholic, she was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an active parishioner at Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church. Ms. Wade was a card shark, could throw down in the kitchen like no other, and loved rallying for the Boston Celtics and Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, the most important role in her life was the family she built on a foundation of love; she spent endless hours making memories with her beloved children and most adored grandchildren.
Grace is survived by her precious children, Malford Wade, Dr. VonZell (Laurie Johnson-Wade) Wade, Tomarro Wade, and Rudolph (Pamela Lopata-Wade) Wade; grandchildren, Tiffany, Darnell, Andre, Gabrielle, Jadrian, Laronzo, Sierra, and Jullian; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Teryan Dardin, Tracy Banichar, and Malford Wade special niece, Jontrae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Adrian Wade, Margaret Cooperwood, and Benjamin Powell.
