Freda Mae Haser, 86, of New Kensington passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021. She was born March 10, 1935 in Arnold to the late Harold and Jennie Langham Merritts.
Freda lived in New Kensington her entire life and was a long-time member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Springdale Chapter 453, Order of the Eastern Star and the Women of the Moose New Kensington Chapter 711.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Myerl) Haser, Jo-Rae Bitar, Lori (Bob) Cernell, and Sandy (Gregg) Carlaccini; grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley), Brian (Anya), Brittany, Jessica (Mike), Lauren (Greg), Caitlin, Nicole, Cassidy and Callie; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Duane Merritts.
In addition to her parents and brother Harold, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Thomas C. Haser.
In life, Freda and Tom enjoyed socializing at the Moose, Sportsmans Club, and the Lamppost. They spent much of their married life living at the Terrace where they raised their family and made life-long friendships.
Viewing will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 15.
