Francis S. "Frank" Janosky Obituary

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our father Francis "Frank" Janosky, 86, of Lower Burrell.  He passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 with his daughters by his side. He was born July 25, 1935 to Daniel and Agnes (Stossel) Janosky of Natrona. After high school, Frank was drafted into to the Army and proudly served his country.  He met his one and only love of his life Sylvia Jean Kirch and was married for 40 years.

Frank was a laborer and foreman in the Labor's Union Local No. 1058.  He would drive around showing us all the places he helped to construct, from PPG Place to residential homes in the surrounding area.  Frank enjoyed family vacations at the beach with his grandchildren, but most of all, his trip to Europe with his loving wife.  After retiring, camp at Pymatuning became a staple for long summer weekends for the entire family. Frank was the official referee for all yard games.  By the end of the game every player had at least one flag thrown for bad behavior whether you did it or not.  He loved spending time on the lake fishing, watching the sunset and Fourth of July fireworks.  Frank was a master fisherman and taught his girls at a young age how to fish and had no trouble telling us what we were doing wrong.  It was a blessing to see a smile on his face, even when he said "Girls! Poles down, enough giggling and laughing, this is fishing!"

Frank was a devote Catholic and was saddened when he could no longer attend church due to the pandemic. He was an avid sports fan and loved everything Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and Penn State.  He enjoyed country music, polkas and western movies, except "SHANE!"

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lorraine Wasielak of Lower Burrell and Sharon West (Robert Connor) of Leechburg; grandchildren, Ashley (Robert) Writt of Pueblo, CO; Benjamin (Megan) Wasielak of Lower Burrell; Cody West of Arnold; Evan (Alissa) West of State College; great-grandchildren, Alex Mark Writt of Pueblo, CO and Ezra Jackson Wasielak, expected September 25, 2021; and his best snuggle buddy, Macushla (Moe) who was always at his side.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife in 2003, Sylvia; sister, Mary Ann Bottles; brothers, Chester and most recently, Edward Janosky. No matter how much Frank struggled he was a strong man fighting to the end and always with a smile on his face.  He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Frank's name to Saint Margaret Mary Church, Lower Burrell or a charity of your choice.
