Francis “Frank” Earl Stewart, 74, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025.
He was born in Pittsburgh on August 7, 1950 to the late Paul & Jane Wella Stewart and was a 1969 graduate of Har-Brack High School. Mr. Stewart then proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1970-1972.
Frank was a bricklayer for 25 years for Allegheny Brick in Creighton and served as the maintenance man for the Arco housing complex for another 20 years.
He enjoyed serving his community and volunteered regularly with the Salvation Army. He was passionate about camping and fishing and loved telling a good story.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Stewart; a sister, Ruth Rose Stewart; and two brothers, Paul and Billie Stewart.
Survivors include his nine children, Francis Earl Patrick Stewart, Albert (Jessica) Stewart, Debbie Stewart, Jacob Claypoole, Susan Desiena-Stewart, Francis Earl Stewart Jr., Brian (Carol) Stewart, Donald Stewart and Jonathan Stewart; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as “Pappy”; and his sister, Mabel Stewart.
Viewing will be 5-8 on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Friday at 11AM by Rev. Dean Ward. Private burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, Washington County.
