After battling cancer for nearly a decade, Elizabeth Anne (Booth) Rotzler passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and sons. Anne was born November 24, 1952 at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was a 1971 graduate of Valley High School and attended the New Kensington Commercial School. She was a devoted, supportive, comforting wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister and was much loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Anne held numerous jobs during her too-short lifetime. She worked as a server/bartender/cook/hostess in Florida and as a legal secretary in Pittsburgh, but her favorite gig was working as a medical assistant for the late Dr. David Clements in New Kensington. While she never had any formal medical training, “Doc” and all of their patients referred to Anne as a “GN.” Not an RN or an LPN, but a GN: Generic Nurse. For years after she retired, former patients would recognize her in a store or on the street and give her a hug and tell her how much they appreciated and missed her ever-present smile and infectious laugh.
Anne enjoyed horseback riding, reading, artwork and boating. More than anything else, she loved her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Reid Rotzler; sons Reid, Jr. of Irwin, PA and Paul (Breannah) of Clarkdale, AZ;sisters, Laurie Monteverde of Houston, TX, Susan (Hank) Cochran of Nashville, TN, Kathy (Chip) Friday of Fox Chapel, PA, Jeanne (Robert) Weil of New Kensington, PA; brother Harvey (Sheri) Booth of Sedona, AZ; six grandchildren, Celeste, Gannon, Miller, Jett, Jadyn, and Emberly; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. Booth, Jr. and Laura Lee “Lolly” Booth and her brother, Charles H. Booth, III.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
