Elizabeth M. (Smith) McKee

Elizabeth M. McKee, 96, of Butler, and formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 24, 2023.  She was born Dec. 25, 1926, to the late William T. Smith and Bessie M. Burroughs, of Virginia.  She was the wife of Francis G. McKee, to whom she was married for 68 years. She graduated from King George High School, Virginia, in 1944. She worked for the Department of the Navy, the IRS and the Bureau of Public Roads before starting a family.  She was the beloved mother of Betsy (Wayne) Rideout, Michael (Karen) McKee and John McKee; cherished grandmother of Michael Newcombe, Steven McKee, Beth Newcombe, Jennifer McKee, Jenai McKee and Zaden McKee; and cherished great-grandmother of Alina Newcombe, Lily Guntrum, Emerson Newcombe, Ryan Newcombe, Madison McKee, Alexandra McKee and Addison Gibson.  Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Francis and brother, William Smith.  
Viewing will be Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, July 1, 2023.  Burial will follow at Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough.
