Dorie L. Santucci

Dorie L. Santucci, 89, of Arnold, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born June 10, 1933 in Natrona, to the late James Cochenour and Mary Tantlinger; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso “Foe” Santucci; brother Leonard “Buck” Tantlinger; sisters Lois Stratton and Joyce Gohn; great-granddaughter Sophia Rose Dobrzynski and great-grandson Micah Tyler Santucci.

Dorie leaves behind her children, Susie Gentile, Junnie (Terry) Mendelowski, Thomas Santini, Cindy (Floyd) Santucci-Jenkins, Aldo Santucci, Nikki (George) Santucci-Theis, Shannon Santucci, Alfonso (Tammi) Santucci, Marnie Santucci and Michael Santucci, Sr.; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Nelson) Fike; brother Jeff (Kathy) Harbison; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Santucci had her own catering business and started the former Funzi’s Restaurant in 1991.  She also worked for the former Nader’s Bar & Grill in New Kensington.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking for everybody in town, spending time with family, loving life and blessing everyone with her kindness and infectious smile.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers and all of the staff from Heritage Hospice who loved her and cared for her.  We would also like to thank the many medics and firefighters who came when we needed them.  Special thanks to Anthony and Rachel Sage.

Viewing will be on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-9PM in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 10AM by Rev. Harold Mele.  Entombment will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorie’s memory can be made to “Sheep Arnold” (formerly Lazarus Tomb), 1821 Fifth Avenue, Arnold, to continue caring and feeding people in our community.  To leave an online condolence visit www.rossgwalker.com
