Diane Lee O’Neil, 69, of Plum Borough died on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville due to complications of Covid-19. Born July 24, 1952 in New Kensington, she was one of three children to the late Francis and Lillian June (Mills) Rowe.
Diane was a graduate of Valley High School, Class of 1970. She dedicated her life and found great joy in caring for others, dropping everything and anything to make sure her family and animals had all they needed and more. A lover of animals, she bred and raised cockatiels, and would habitually put out food for any animal that wandered through the yard at home. She always made sure everyone was fed and truly had a knack for baking, especially her cheesecake, which was to-die-for. She could assemble a burrito like no other, and always served them with a 6-pack of cold beer. She worked as a secretary and homemaker before finding her true passion, co-founding her own photography business with her daughter, Sarah. Diane was the ultimate wife, mother, and loving grandmother with a zest for life, tender heart of gold, gentle kindness, and a giving spirit that will forever be a guiding light to her family.
She will be so deeply missed and eternally remembered by her beloved husband of 45 years, Daniel E. O’Neil; adored children, Michele (Todd) O’Neil, Daniel O’Neil, Patrick (Sharee) O’Neil, Sarah (Kirk) O’Neil, and Ian (Meggan) O’Neil; nine treasured grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Chelsea, Cassidy, Nathaniel, McKenzie, Clover, Charlee, and Sawyer; one precious great-granddaughter, Coraline; and cherished brother, Donald Rowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Woodward.
Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1 P.M. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Rev. Dean Ward will officiate. Private burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Please visit www.rossgwalker.com to leave an online tribute or memory of Diane.
